WestSurDel Cub Car Rally 2010

This year the Cub Car Rally will be hosted by 10th Sur Del and held at the LDS Church building at 6270 – 126 St., Surrey on Saturday March 6th for REGISTERED CUBS only. Registration will begin at 10:30 AM and the rally itself will begin as close to 11:15 AM as possible.

Prior to arrival, Groups will be responsible for numbering their participants’ cars in permanent marker on the bottom of each Cub Car. The numbering system must include a prefix that identifies the Group. For example, 17th Sur Del might use 17SD as a prefix to the car number, whereas, 3rd Boundary Bay might use 3BB as a prefix, etc.

The Registration and Weigh in stations are separated. However, everyone must pass the Cub Cars through the registration table so that we can confirm that each car is numbered and trial tickets can be issued to the participants.

We encourage Groups to go through Registration as a Group.

The Registration Form should include all participants’ names and their car numbers as assigned by the Group. The Registration Fee is $4/cub and will include a participation crest. Group cheques are made out to WestSurDel Area – Scouts Canada.

SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN will be the rules of the day for all participants and spectators! The event is being run by volunteers!

The maximum weight of the cars will be 5 oz or 142 grams as per the kit instructions. Please have the cubs pre-weigh their cars and bring them up to as close to the weight as possible before arriving at the event. There will be a pit stop for adjusting the weights to accommodate the official scale. Please have your group bring some tools and weights for the Pit Stop. NO LUBES will be permitted due to the Church’s policy concerning the building. Dry Graphite will be added once at the Pit Stop. Any deviation from the Lube rules will result in DISQUALIFICATION! All Cub Cars in the Finals will be re-weighed!

Medals will be awarded to the top three in Racing and the top three in Design. The design of the cars must include clearance on the undercarriage for the track and can not interfere width-wise with competitors. It will be a Double Knock-Out System for the races. Racing will be judged by a digital placement track. Best Design will be judged by a youth committee.

Full uniforms will be required for all youth and leaders as there will be a Best Dressed Pack contest.

Coffee, tea or alcohol is not permitted in the building. And there is no smoking in the building or on the grounds. Thank you.
