WestSurDel Beaver Buggy Rally 2010

This year the Beaver Buggy Rally will be hosted by 10th Sur Del and held at the LDS Church building at 6270 – 126 St., Surrey on Saturday March 6th. Group registration begins at 9:30 AM. The event consists of a rotation through four stations. Each station lasts approximately 20 minutes except for racing.

1. Building the Beaver Buggy
2. Decorating the Beaver Buggy
3. Snack Time (time to let the glue dry)
4. Racing Time (will last until the Cub Car Rally begins)

This year, Groups are responsible for bringing sufficient Beaver Buggy Kits for their participants. The Beavers are expected to build and decorate their Buggies on Race Day. It will be a Bring-A-Friend event. There will be multiple tracks for the Beavers to race against their friends’ Buggies! Because this is strictly a fun event and not a competition, it is not required to have weights on the Buggies. However, Groups may provide weights for their Beavers’ Buggies so that they will run the length of the “Big Track”.

The cost per youth is $4. Group cheques are made out to WestSurDel Area - Scouts Canada. The fee includes decorations, snack and a participation crest.

SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN will be the rules of the day for all participants and spectators!

If your Group has hammers, please label them and bring them for the building station. Also, if your Group would like to contribute to the decoration station, please feel free to bring whatever you have. NO LUBES will be permitted due to the Church’s policy concerning the building.

Uniforms will be required for all registered youth and leaders.

Coffee, tea or alcohol is not permitted in the building. And there is no smoking in the building or on the grounds. Thank you.
